DESCRIPTION
FLUGEN Fluoroprotein Foam Concentrate combines hydrolyzed protein with C6 fluorochemical surfactants, foam stabilizers (metal salts), bactericide, corrosion inhibitors, freeze point depressants and solvents to provide superior fire and vapor suppression for Class B hydrocarbon fuel fires. The protein based provides a adhesive foam blanket with high resistance to heat that quickly smoothers, cools and seals the risk. C6 Fluorochemical surface active agents combined with the protein base increase the fluidity and fuel repellency of the foam.
APPLICATIONS
It is suitable for use in situations where hydrocarbons (such as diesel fuel, gasoline, crude oil) are stored, processed and transported. It is especially used by petroleum and petrochemical companies to protect hydrocarbon storage tanks against fire.
FLUGEN Fluoroprotein Concentrate can be ideal for fixed, semi-fixed, and emergency response firefighting applications such as:
- Hydrocarbon fuel storage tanks
- Hydrocarbon fuel industrial/processing facilities
- Flammable liquid containment areas
- Docks and on-board marine systems
C6 FLUOROCHEMICALS EQUIPMENT
The environmentally friendly FLUGEN fluoroprotein concentrate formulation contains short-chain C6 fluorochemicals produced using a telomere-based process. The telomere process does not produce PFOS and the C6 fluorochemicals do not break down to produce PFOA. The fluorochemicals used in the concentrate comply with the objectives of the EPA 2010/15 PFOA Management Program.
EQUIPMENT
FLUGEN is suitable for use in combination with :
Soft or hard, fresh or sea water.
Dry powder extinguishing agents either separately or as twin agent systems.
FLUGEN properties do not change in case of frost. It recovers its initial properties as soon as it is defrosted.
FLUGEN can be used with air aspirating discharge devices such as low expansion branchpipes, monitors, foam/water sprinkler.
